Blyth Spartans have brought experienced centre back Richard Pell back to Croft Park.
The thirty three year old was part of the Spartans squad that made the third round of the FA Cup in 2008/09, beating AFC Bournemouth and Shrewsbury Town on their way to a tie against Blackburn Rovers, then a Premier League club.
Pell spent time with Alfreton Town and more recently, Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club Whitby Town but now he has sealed his return to the Northumberland club.
Speaking to Spartans official website Pell admitted that no matter where he was plying his trade, he always kept looking out for how the club were faring.
He said ““I’ve kept a close eye on how Blyth were doing.
“I‘ve always looked on them fondly. I’d say I enjoyed my time at Blyth as being as much as anywhere in my career.
“I’m really pleased to be back again. Blyth is a big club; a top of the table side. Tom [Wade] talked to me about signing and, to be honest, any player would have their head turned if Blyth Spartans were interested”
