Derby County manager Wayne Rooney says he is looking forward to tracking the progress of striker Jack Stretton at Stockport County.
The 19-year-old Rams prospect was announced as a new loan addition for National League Stockport yesterday.
Ex-England captain Rooney’s younger brother John has been playing for County this season following an impressive part in Barrow’s promotion to the EFL last year.
The Rams boss told the club’s website: “Jack will be at Stockport for the next month and I think it will be a good move for him.
“It is a chance for him to go and play competitive football and I am looking forward to seeing him play. I am sure if he gets the chance to, he will score goals.
“It is a good move and it helps us seeing him get game time at a really competitive level. Stockport showed interest in Jack and I felt it was a good time for Jack to go out and get some games.”
