Dorchester Town’s Antonio Diaz has signed a one-year contract with The Magpies.
The attacking midfielder had previously agreed non-contract terms to stay at the club for the upcoming season back in May.
Speaking after Diaz signed his new deal, boss Callum Brooks said: “Diaz finished the season during my ten games as a standout performer, especially during the first five or six games where he was unplayable at times.”
“He turned up for pre-season in great condition and it was obvious he had been putting in the work during the close season, and he is really looking forward to helping us move to the next level really.”
“He wants to affect twice as many games as he did last year and score more goals, and you can see that hunger in the way he’s approaching everything.”
“From our point of view, he’s completed some training sessions at a Football League club during this close season and he’s also been approached by a local Southern Premier League club aswell, so there is some interest there.”
“Quite rightly, he believes that this is the club where he will progress the best, so we thought it was right for all parties that we formalise that interest plus reward the effort and quality he has shown us with a one-year contract, which Antonio was delighted to sign and I’m delighted that he’s committed his immediate future to the club.”
