Following Saturday’s announcement regarding Mick Godber’s departure Handsworth Parramore have held talks with assistant manager Jason Dodsworth.
Following those talks Dodsworth has followed Godber out of the club.
A club statement said “ason has only been with the club for just over 7 weeks, and in that short time the whole club has been greatly impressed with his drive, commitment, knowledge, infectious attitude, with a work ethic that is second to none.
It is with great sadness but with huge admiration for Jason’s integrity that we reluctantly agreed to his decision to leave his role with the club, and he leaves with our thanks and best wishes.
Club Development manager Steve Holmes said of Jason’s decision “Jason is a proper football man, with a brilliant working knowledge of the game he’s honourable and as honest as the day is long, he felt that given the news of Mick’s departure ……that with a heavy heart he would leave his post.”
“I’ve known Jason for a number of years and working closely with him over the past 7/8 weeks or so has heightened further my admiration for him, we fully understand Jason’s decision and wish him well in whatever his next challenge may be, one thing is for sure he will always be welcome back at our club”
Outgoing Jason Dodsworth added “I would like to thank Pete (Whitehead)and everyone at Handsworth for everything they have done in the short time I’ve been there, and wish Pete and the whole the club all the best for the future”
“There are some fantastic hard working people behind the scenes who made me feel so welcome and I’m saddened to leave but think it’s the right thing to do at this point. Special thanks to Steve Holmes who works so hard to get the club where it wants to be and puts everyone else first. A top footballing man and friend.”
