Poole Town have signed Romanian midfielder Cristian Valentin Muscalu.

The 27-year-old started his career at Steaua spending eight years, before joining Gic? Popescu’s football academy for a year as well turning out for CS? Nucet.

During 2006 he was offered a move to German side FC Köln but left after six months to return to Romania with second level outfit CSM Jiul Petro?ani.

During the winter break he moved abroad to Belgium and signed with Sint-Truidense and debuted for Sint-Truidense in 12 April 2008 in the Belgian Pro League. However, a year later he was transferred to Bosnia & Herzegovina’s FK Slavija to gain more experience, where he won a national cup.

In July 2009, he signed for FK Baku in Azerbaijan, but after not having many firsts-team opportunities, he played the last six months of that season on loan to Chernomorets Burgas playing in the Bulgarian First League.

After the summer of 2010, Muscalu had a short spell with Polish second tier side Tur Turek which lasted until October.

In early 2011, he joined Serbian side FK Borac ?a?ak, but didn’t play any games and in the summer of 2011 he returned to his home country to play in Liga 1 with newly-promoted Ceahl?ul Piatra Neam?.

In the summer of 2013, he joined newly-promoted Serbian SuperLiga side FK Voždovac and the following February he signed for Portugese outfit Beira-Mar.

The summer of 2014 saw Muscalu return to Romania and he played with lower-league sides FC Caransebe? and Metalul Fr?sinet before coming over to England to try his luck.
