Torquay United have taken Aarran Racine on loan from league rivals Forest Green Rovers for the rest of the season and right-back Jared Hodgkiss on a month`s loan from National League North side Kidderminster Harriers.
Central defender Racine,25, joins the Gulls after a recent loan spell with York City from the Green.
He has made over 100 first-team appearances for the Nailsworth-based team after joining in 2012.
Hodgkiss, 30, played with player-manager Kevin Nicholson, Aman Verma, and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner while he was at Kidderminster.
While starting his career at West Bromwich Albion, Hodgkiss went on loan to Aberdeen and Northampton before leaving the Baggies and spending a brief stay with Market Drayton Town.
It was at his next club, Forest Green, where Hodgkiss has made the majority of his first-team appearances, making a total of 164.
Player-manager Kevin Nicholson is pleased to have Hodgkiss on board: “’Jaz’ is a player that I am familiar with from my time at Kidderminster. He was captain at Kidderminster which tells you a lot about him as a character. He’s a leader and he knows the level incredibly well.
“He’s only with us for a month to start with but we will see how it goes.”
Hodgkiss will wear the number 20, and he had this to say after training today:
“I spoke to the manager and he said why not come and help us win some games. It helps when you are moving to a club in the league above.
“I know the Gaffer, Aman Verma, and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner as well so it does help you settle in.”
Both will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game against Gateshead at Plainmoor.
