Barnton FC announced the signing of Atherton Collieries goalkeeper Steve Dryden, hot on the heels of securing the services of striker Matt Perry on a permanent deal.
Dryden has a vast amount of league experience having played for Glossop North End, Alsager Town and Ashton Athletic to name a few.
Dryden expressed his views having signed for the league leaders.
“Delighted to have signed for Barnton. It’s a club that clearly wants to progress and I’m excited to be a part of that. Can’t wait to get started.”
Manager Leon Knight believe Dryden will prove to be fantastic competition for club number 1 Richie Mottram.
“As we move into the final few months of the season we don’t want to leave anything to chance. We needed to make sure we have a sound back up for Richie, in case of injury and or suspension, but also to push him and keep him on his toes.
“I am pleased to be a new addition to Barton FC and look forward to being a valuable member of the club.”
Knight is also looking forward to working with experienced striker Perry.
“Pleased to welcome Matt to the club, he’ll give us good options through the middle and he’s the type of player we’ve been after for a while.
“He’s got good experience and has played a couple of leagues higher so we believe he will be an important signing for us as we look to keep progressing. Welcome to the club Matt!”
