The Lions were relegated to the Vanarama National League North and with Douglas coming in, the club have pointed to a need for stability moving forward. The following statement was posted on the Guiseley club website:
‘Following a meeting of the Guiseley AFC Board of Directors, the Club is delighted to announce that Gary Douglas has agreed to take over the role of Chairman of the Club, with input from other Board Colleagues.
Following the Clubs relegation from the National League, to National North Gary will oversee a process to ensure a stable future for the Club, developing a Business Model to underpin the process.
