Eighteen clubs at Step 1 and 2 have been charged for alleged breaches of National League rules.
Dover Athletic have been charged with failing to meet fixture obligations between 16th and 27th February. The club have had their results from the current league season expunged and will play no further part in the campaign, and they have also been given a 12-point deduction for this season and fined £40,000.
Along with National League North Southport, National League King’s Lynn Town have been deemed guilty of ‘a breach of The National League’s COVID-19 protocols.’
King’s Lynn have been given a 12-month suspended fine of £2000 ‘for an unintentional error, considered to be in the best efforts to ensure a fixture was played.’ Southport have been fined £2000 for ‘misinformation of the status of a player’s COVID-19 test to avoid playing a fixture on dates set by the league.’
In total, 16 Step 2 clubs are deemed to have been guilty of breaching Rule 8.39 for failing to meet fixture obligations, with fines ranging from £1400 to £8000 handed out, along with suspended points deductions.
