Kevin Roberts admits he is proud of the Dragons defensive record, but adds it would be nice if he were able to chip in with a few goals at the other end.

Wrexham have the best defensive record in the National League, the Dragons having conceded just eight in their 15 games – the only side still in single figures – a statistic that has seen Dean Keates ‘s side up to fifth in the standings, just three points off leaders Macclesfield Town.

The Dragons have found goals hard to come by this season, their 13 the fourth lowest in the fifth tier.

Right-back Roberts admits it would be nice chip in with a goal or two himself, but is far more concerned about ensuring clean sheets at the other end.

“Them three (Jennings, Pearson and Smith) go up for corners, so it is a bit unfair to look at it that way,” said Roberts. “I might ask Jenno if he wants to stay back, but I don’t think he will.

“It is always nice to get a goal, but my main thing is to try and keep it out of the net.”
