Basford United have completed the signings of Kieran Fenton from Worksop Town and Sam Osborne from Notts County.
Fenton, aged 22, is a left sided player, equally at home in defence or midfield. He spent two years at Nottingham Forest during which time he played for the England Under 19 team. Released in 2015, he has also played for Tamworth.
Osborne is a 17 year old striker or winger, who joins us on a work experience deal. He made his Notts County first team debut at Morecambe in January, and has so far made three Football League appearances for the Magpies.
Martin Carruthers said “I am delighted to welcome Kieran to Basford. I know him well from his time at Forest and am absolutely delighted to be able to bring such a talented player to this club. He will be a fantastic addition to the squad and will help us with our play-off and promotion ambitions
“Sam is a player I have admired for some time and it is with great thanks to Kevin Nolan and Notts County for allowing us the opportunity to bring him in to help aid his continued development. A highly skilful player who can operate out wide or up front he will undoubtedly give us lots more attacking prowess.
“We are approaching the business end of the season and we really want to make a real push for the play-offs after the last three disappointing league results. The lads need to realise it is a privilege to represent this football club and we will bring quality players in if we feel lads are not performing to the required levels.”
Both players go into the squad for Tuesday’s match at Chasetown.
