Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division club Hednesford Town have announced the appointment of Nicky Eaden as their new manager.
Eaden arrives at Keys Park having left Vanarama National League North outfit Nuneaton Borough in November.
Eaden, 45, had a distinguished playing career, making over 550 professional appearances both in the Football League and Premier League for Barnsley, Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest.
After hanging up his boots in 2009, the former full-back enjoyed coaching spells with the likes of Peterborough United, Tamworth and Leicester City, before being handed managerial responsibilities on a caretaker basis at Rotherham in early 2016.
Speaking to http://www.hednesfordtownfc.com: “I’m looking forward to getting going. Some people are perhaps surprised that I would take a job at this level, but I see Hednesford as a great club and an opportunity to create something really good.
“My first management job, with Nuneaton, could be best described as challenging but after speaking to people here at Hednesford I could tell that the set-up here was right. I’m very much looking forward to getting the club moving in the right direction again and playing good football.”
Eaden will be assisted by Gary Hayward and their first game in charge will be when Farsley Celtic visit Keys Park on New Year’s Day.
