East Thurrock United have taken forward Femi Akinwande on a month`s loan from League Two side Colchester United.

Akinwande, aged 20, has recently finished a similar spell with Ryman League Division One North promotion-chasers Maldon & Tiptree where he netted 4 goals in four games.

He originally played for The Jammers under David Wright last season, scoring 12 goals in only eighteen appearances.

He left Park Drive in November 2015 to join Colchester on a full-time contract until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Akinwande made an immediate impact for Colchester’s under-21s, scoring on his debut, and he has scored lots of goals for Colchester’s development side since.

In his first season with the U`s, Akinwande was handed his first-team debut, by then manager Kevin Keen in March 2016, starting against Wigan Athletic.

Having been offered another contract at the end of last season, Akinwande has been playing for East Thurrock`s league rivals Bishop`s Stortford on loan earlier this season, where he notched 3 times in seven outings.
