Eastbourne Borough have offered supporters a brief update on the managerial post.
They said “Since last Friday’s news of Tommy Widdrington vacating the Priory Lane hot seat, the club has received more than 20 expressions of interest and applications for the position.
The applicants have a huge range of experience and expertise – both League and Non-League – and have arrived from both local and international locations.
As we have previously made clear, the club is in good hands and in a stable league position for the closing of the 2016/2017 season. Thanks are due to Hugo Langton and staff for ensuring this continuity. It means that time will be taken to ensure that the process to select the club’s next manager is conducted in a thorough manner. We are focused on allowing all interested parties to reach a conclusion best suited to the club and the individuals concerned.
Given the quality and volume of applicants, the club intend to set a deadline for applications of 5pm on Sunday 16th of April. This deadline should be met by all those interested in the vacancy”
