Eastleigh manager Richard Hill admitted that his side’ s 2-1 defeat at home to basement boys Solihull Moors on Tuesday night was “embarrassing”.

The Spifires crashed to a shock Vanarama National League loss in front of a crowd of 2,577 who had taken advantage of free admission for everyone .

Reflecting on the defeat, Hill said: “We had good chances in the first few minutes without hitting the target and what happened after that was not good enough.

“It was a bit embarrassing, to be perfectly honest.

“We had a spell of ten to 15 minutes second half where we huffed and puffed and flattered to deceive but again I’m having to apologise to people.

“A few will have bit of fun saying it wasn’t good value even though it was free entry – and it wasn’t, was it!

“I’m the manager and I take the blame.

“It just wasn’t good enough and it wasn’t acceptable.”
