Ebbsfleet United manager Garry Hill believes what he has seen of Gozie Ugwu in the past with Woking was reason enough to give the new signing an opportunity at the Kuflink Stadium to the end of this season.
“He’s done well for me in the past,” Hill told eufc.co.uk. “It’s not quite happened for him after he left me from Woking.”
“He got the move to Chesterfield and has been unlucky with injuries the season before this and had a niggling, frustrating time this season with the loan to Boreham Wood thrown in as well.
“But I’ve got to believe in what my own eyes have seen. As people can appreciate from the year he spent with me, he did very well, he scored 21 goals for me.
“He’s a big strong lad, 6ft 1 or 2 or thereabouts. He’s mobile, he’s a physical presence and he’s been at Ebbsfleet before as a young lad and he knows the surroundings very well.”
