Daryl McMahon hailed a “huge achievement” for Ebbsfleet after they qualified for the National League play-offs.

Promoted from the South division a year ago, Fleet finished sixth with 74 points from 46 games. They now face Aldershot away on Wednesday in the first round of the revamped play-off system.

McMahon said: “It’s a huge achievement. I’ve been saying all season that we wanted to get into the top 10 and to finish sixth, we finished above all the promoted and relegated teams and we finished above everyone else from Kent in our first year back in the division.

“You look at those three as little markers and it’s a big achievement. Hopefully now we can do well in the play-offs.”

Ebbsfleet drew 1-1 at Torquay on the final day of the regular season to clinch their play-off place.
