Ebbsfleet United managing director Dave Archer says there is no truth in the suggestion the club could take a voluntary relegation from the Vanarama National League.

Speaking to the club’s website as part of a conversation about early-bird season ticket offers, he said:

“I can also reassure supporters that these season tickets will be for National League football next season. Some of you may have seen a story run by a website last week stating that we as a club were considering a drop down to a lower level.

“This was pure fiction. Both Peter Danzey and Ed Miller contacted the website concerned asking if they could substantiate the story and that website has now removed the article, which tells you all you need to know.

“We have one game left this season and myself, Garry Hill and all club staff are already hard at work preparing this club for the 2019/20 National League season. Needless to say, every season ticket sale helps and I hope to see plenty more of you through our doors this coming week.”
