Norwich United assistant manager John Edridge has agreed to take charge after the departure of Damian Hilton.

John along with Hilton guided The Planters to the Thurlow Nunn Premiership Title and League Cup last season, John’s first game in charge will be against Godmanchester Rovers at Plantation Park tomorrow.

John stated after his appointment ‘It was a big surprise to everyone Damian leaving at this stage of the season with us top of the league and in 2 cup semi finals, however our main objective as a club is to concentrate on tomorrow’s game against Godmanchester Rovers and the big games to come for the rest of the season, I am sure the players will be just as focused on the job at hand as I am’

A statement on the club website said “The appointment of John as manager will ensure stability within the club so that the players can focus on the job at hand to try and retain the League Trophy and get through to the finals of the League & Norfolk Senior Cup finals.

We thank Damian for his work and achievements whilst at the club and wish him well in the future”
