Craig Elliott lauded the ‘community feeling’ around The Jakemans Stadium after watching Boston United thrash Curzon Ashton on Saturday, Lincolnshire Live report.

Elliott’s side chalked up a 4-1 home win in front of a bumper 1,406 attendance, boosted by the club’s Community Foundation and their ‘celebration day’ activities.

A 400 increase on United’s previous home attendance against Chorley delighted Elliott – and he was equally as pleased to see the Pilgrims record a resounding victory.

“I talk about starting well and putting smiles on faces around the ground and the lads did that perfectly,” said Elliott.

“It’s always good to get that early goal and that’s what has been missing when you look at our home results.

“It was good to see so many people about, including children and families, and great for people to see us play like that.”
