Adding strikers to his squad is Craig Elliott’s next priority after strengthening his Boston United defence.

Elliott has swooped for defender Jordan Gough, who can operate at both left-back and centre-back.

The 28-year-old knows what it takes to win promotion from National League North after helping Solihull Moors win the title in 2016.

Gough, who has also played for Brackley and Telford, joins fellow summer signings Dylan Parkin (goalkeeper), Ben Middleton (defender), John McCombe (defender), Nicky Walker (winger), Nathan Arnold (winger).

Elliott is now focusing on his front line and wants to bring in three strikers.

“Two proven ones and one up-and-coming one – that would be the ideal scenario,” said Elliott.

“I’ve been in talks with five or six strikers and I feel like I’m close with a couple of them. I don’t want to rush in and just sign any one. I’ll go for quality over quantity.”
