Farnborough manager Spencer Day has confirmed the exit of last night’s winning goalscorer Keith Emmerson.

Emmerson had netted the only goal in the club’s victory over Banbury United but Day has now spoken of his departure,

“As with most of the players I spoke to Keith in the last few days about this season and next. He made it clear due to off-field personal and professional matters he was looking to move back to his home on an urgent basis and it would be “extremely unlikely” that he would be able to play for Boro next season due to personal and work circumstances.

“We agreed that we would part in the near future so we could both build for next season and he came to me last night thinking that the game was the best send-off he could give. Emo has been absolutely brilliant for me and the club and everyone here wishes him and his family all the very best with their exciting future which he thoroughly deserves.”
