Long-serving Boston United general manager and club secretary John Blackwell has officially stepped down from his role after 38 years with the club.
Blackwell’s last day at work unfolded on Tuesday and he will now take on the role of club president moving forward.
The 68-year-old will also enjoy a testimonial fixture against Peterborough United on Saturday July 9 — full details of which will be announced in due course.
United chairman David Newton told bufc.co.uk: “To give so many years’ service is exceptional and I was delighted with the warm reception John was given by all the fans at the end of season presentations.
“It shows how well John is respected by everyone associated with the club and I wish him all the very best for the future.
