Lincoln City have completed the signing of England C defender Sean Raggett.
City have fought off interest from clubs from the EFL, SPL and The National League to secure Raggett’s signature, with the 6’5″ centre back putting pen-to-paper on a two-year contract.
Raggett, 22, started his career as a youngster with Gillingham before joining Dover Athletic as a 16-year-old and went on to become a first team regular at The Crabble, going on to make over 150 first team appearances.
Having also gained experience during a loan spell at Whitstable Town, Raggett was part of the Dover Athletic squad that secured promotion to the top flight of non-League football in 2013/14 and he followed this up last season as the Whites reached the semi-finals of the Vanarama National League play-offs.
“The opportunity to make the transition into full-time football under an ambitious young manager and at a club with such a rich history was too good to turn down,” said Raggett.
“Whilst I appreciate what everyone at Dover has done for me I felt it was time for me to come out of my comfort zone and test myself in a new system with new players and new management. I can’t wait to get started.”
As Raggett is under the age of 24 Dover Athletic are entitled to a compensation fee for their role in his development.
