Manager Ian Evatt believes Barrow AFC are now demonstrating that they are a better team than last season after their resounding 3-0 victory against Solihull Moors last Saturday.

Sweeping aside one of the pre-season favourites for promotion from the National League brought up the Bluebirds second win in a row while the it also equalled the biggest victory of Evatt’s time in charge.

This time, there were none of the dips during games that had hampered them during the first month of the season and at both ends the improvement was clear as AFC were clinical in attack while their defence offered Solihull no clear chances.

Evatt said: “We probably only hit second or third gear and we still won the game comfortably.

“This team has got a lot of ability and a lot of talent and we’ve improved from last year. People might say differently, but I’m telling you we are a better team than we were last year.”
