Manager Ian Evatt felt only the killer touch was lacking from Barrow AFC’s performance in their 0-0 draw at promotion-chasing AFC Fylde on New Year’s Day, The Mail report.

The Bluebirds rounded off a successful Christmas/New Year period with a composed display at Mill Farm, where they finished the stronger team and came so close to picking up all three points.

Evatt said: “I think it was the perfect away performance, bar the goal.

“We’ve kept things tight and solid for 70 minutes and in the last 20 minutes we started to overpower and overrun them.

“We had the best chances and we probably should have won the game, but I’m really pleased with the clean sheet and I’m really pleased with the point.

“It was a great away performance, where we just missed that goal, but we deserved to win the game, there’s no doubt about that.”
