Matlock Town have announced the signing of 33-year-old winger Adam Smith, formerly of Bradford Park Avenue.
Smudger, as he’s known to his teammates, has made well over 300 games in the National League North and higher. He brings a wealth of experience from his seven-year spell with Chesterfield FC and, more recently, with fellow Conference North clubs Alfreton and Gainsborough.
He has also played in the National League for York, Mansfield, Lincoln, Halifax, Wrexham and Guiseley.
He is principally regarded as a right winger but he can operate on either flank and has played a part in both of the Gladiators’ pre-season friendlies so far.
