Chesterfield have confirmed that former Spireites player Paul Lemon has been appointed as the club’s new chief scout.

Lemon has a wealth of experience as a scout, having previously had spells with Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Wigan Athletic and Scunthorpe United.

Commenting on the appointment, chief executive John Croot said: “I am delighted that we have been able to bring in someone of Paul’s calibre to take on this highly important role.

“The introduction of a scouting network to identify potential new recruits was identified as a priority for the Community Trust when the club takeover was first discussed.”
