George Green is among the players leaving Chester.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who was signed by Everton from Bradford City for £300,000 as a 15-year-old, joined Chester last summer on a one-year deal. Green had to wait until December for his debut due to a back injury.

He now departs the club with joint-manager Anthony Johnson thanking him and praising the former Burnley youngster as ‘the most technically gifted player we’ve ever had the pleasure of coaching.’ Green confirmed his departure with the following tweet:

Unfortunately my time at @ChesterFC has come to an end, I’ve met some truly great people along the way. I’ve learnt more in this year than I have my whole career and take nothing but good memories and laughs with me. Thank you all for your support and I wish Chester all the best
