Blyth Spartans have announced that former Gateshead General Manager and Head of Football Operations Mike Coulson has joined the Executive Committee at the club.
Coulson has a wealth of experience during his 30-year association with the Tynesiders, at one point owning the club.
After his departure from Gateshead, Spartans Chairman Tony Platten eagerly made contact to ask if he’d like to get involved in Spartans.
“I’m extremely glad to be at Blyth Spartans,” said Coulson, “Having left Gateshead at the start of January it was very gratifying to get a phone call from Tony quite quickly after that.”
“Once he explained what he wanted I was more than happy to jump on board.
“I think there is a lot of potential here, Blyth has always struck me as a club who can work close with the community; if you don’t engage with the local community you’ll struggle to move forward.”
