Former Hereford manager Russell Slade has been brought in as managerial consultant at Stevenage.

It sees Slade working with his former Leyton Orient and Cardiff City player Alex Revell, after the 36-year-old was put in charge of the League Two strugglers until the end of the season following Graham Westley’s departure.

Revell told Stevenage’s website: “I have always respected Russ and it will be a great boost to be able to use his experience around the training ground and on match days.”

Slade left his role as Hereford boss last month after just shy of five months in charge at the National League North club.
