Guiseley have completed a deal to sign former Republic of Ireland defender Sean St Ledger.
The 33-year-old has had notable spells with Preston North End, Peterborough United and Orlando City in his career and had returned to football recently with hometown club Solihull Moors. He also counts Leicester City and Colorado Rapids amongst his ex-clubs and won 37 caps for Ireland, scoring three goals.
At his peak, St Ledger was considered by many to be among the Championship’s most accomplished defenders, spending five seasons at Preston and winning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2008. Among his career highlights was the goal he scored for Ireland at Euro 2012 against Croatia in a 3-1 group defeat in Poznan.
