Experienced goalkeeper Michael Ingham has been named as captain of Tadcaster Albion for the 2018/19 season.

“First of all it’s a big honour to take the armband from a great player and friend Andy Milne” said Ingham. “It means a lot to me that I’m able to captain a great bunch of lads at TAFC towards the end of my career.

“It takes big responsibility to lead the side trying to set examples and high standards which hopefully I can. I want to use my experiences gained throughout my career to help the lads, especially the younger members of the squad.

“I want to have great relationships with each player and hopefully create a positive changing room that results with good performances on the pitch. It would be nice to lift a trophy as captain before I hang up my gloves. I’m not getting any younger as the lads keep reminding me!”

“We’ve got a brilliant group of players as well as a top management team so let’s make it a season to remember.”
