Former Nuneaton Borough chairman and owner Nick Hawkins has been announced as Alfreton Town’s new sporting director.

Hawkins was also chief operating officer at Ilkeston Town and Alfreton say that ‘Nick will be ensuring that the Reds are driving forward meeting targets of expenditure and cost.’

Upon the announcement of Hawkins’ arrival at the National League North club, chairman Wayne Bradley said: “I have made no secret during my 22 years of tenure that my desires and aims are to continually drive the club towards self-financial sustainability.

“The achievement of that goal is best generated from a constant focus on the operating costs of the operation. Those efforts, however, must be supported with ever-growing income generation initiatives, along with fan and community engagement activity.

“The club has desires to continue to operate on a national stage and so must push on to explore, capture income and be active outside of its current parameters, whilst striving to build a feel good factor within its fanbase.”
