Erstwhile Tamworth boss Andy Morrell is back on the pitch and in the goals at Redditch United.

The former Wrexham goalgetter and manager saw his Tamworth tenure come to an end after three-and-a-half years recently, following a run of two wins in 12 for the Lambs, with six defeats. The 43-year-old, however, is back in the action at Evo-Stik League South Premier side Redditch, scoring for Tim Harris’ team in their win over Gosport Borough last night, which was his debut.

Former Coventry City man Morrell tweeted:

‘Thoroughly enjoyed that!! Been a while since legs felt like this and definitely been a while since the last ‘grass burn’! Even longer since last goal! Great win too! Boys were good second half!! Thanks for support!’
