Former Watford midfielder Richard Johnson has been named as Wealdstone’s new technical director.
The 44-year-old made over 200 appearances for the Hornets during a playing career which also saw him represent the likes of Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers. The Australian, who won an international cap for the Socceroos, last played a decade ago for Wellington Phoenix in the A-League.
Wealdstone say that Johnson will be combining the role with his work at Watford, where he is business development executive.
Part of his remit at the National League South club will be to identify a manager for the Under-23 side for next season.
