Hemel Hempstead Town have confirmed that Matthew Spring has re-joined the club as assistant manager.

The 38-year-old, who played in the Premier League for Watford under Aidy Boothroyd, returns to the Tudors’ first-team set-up as number two to recent managerial appointment Joe Deeney.

A popular former player with the Vanarama National League South club, Spring has remained involved with the Tudors’ academy.

Spring made his name as a midfielder for the likes of Luton Town, Watford and Leeds United. He moved into the non-league game with St Neots Town in 2014.
