Exeter City have distanced themselves from a potential move for Oxford City striker Kabongo Tshimanga.

The 21-year-old has attracted the interest of several EFL clubs after scoring 36 goals for the Vanarama National League South side last season.

City are doing all they can to keep their star striker and have offered Tshimanga a two-year deal which is thought would see him become the highest paid player in the club’s history.

Exeter, along with Oxford United and Stevenage, have been linked with the former MK Dons striker.

However, Grecians boss Matt Taylor has told Devon Live the Sky Bet League Two club were interested earlier this year, but have since turned their attention elsewhere.

He said: “I’ve got to be honest, there’s nothing from our end. I’ve not spoken to the player, or the agent.”
