Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler said that Scott Doe “won’t play for the football club again”, with the defender looking to go part-time.

The centre-back has made 16 starts for the Whites so far this campaign, but made his first appearance for over a month in Tuesday’s Kent Senior Cup victory over Faversham Town.

The manager said that Doe was unable to do full-time training due to effects it was having on his body, and wanted to switch to part-time football.

Hessenthaler confirmed Doe remains a Dover player at present, but Whites have received “a few” enquiries for him.
