Louis Ezewele has become the latest member of last season’s Tamworth squad to agree to sign for the 2017/18 season.
Centre Back Louis, 20, had dreadful luck with injuries during our previous campaign, and will be hoping to hit the ground running in pre season.
After making four consecutive starts in late August / early September, Louis suffered his fist fitness setback, missing an away trip to Curzon Ashton, and a double header against Kidderminster Harriers, before returning to the bench for our home tie against FC United. Louis then started in our impressive away victory at Salford City, before suffering another injury blow in the Birmingham Senior Cup defeat at Halesowen Town.
After triumphing in the Senior Cup, The Yeltz were then the next destination for Louis, as upon regaining fitness, he was dual registered in order to gain some game time. However, he suffered a broken ankle on his home debut, ending his 2016/17 season.
Andy Morrell was pleased to tie down Ezewele for another year. “He’s a young and bright footballer, who has been with us for a little while now” he said. “If he can stay injury free, he definitely has the ability to have a prolonged run in the team, as he’s got great athletic attributes, reads the game well, and is good on the ball. He’s another who has a big season ahead of him!”
