Fairford Town have signed Ashley Edenborough to the club following his departure from Swindon Supermarine.
The 29-year old striker began his career at Cinder Lane, where he played in the same Fairford side as current Reds’ management duo Gareth Davies and Ady Roper.
He has since gone on to forge an impressive reputation as a non-league marksman, with time at Burnham, Chippenham Town, Cirencester Town, Evesham and of course Supermarine, for whom he scored 104 goals in 207 appearances in three spells.
“When I heard Ashley was available I had a chat with him and we are delighted to have him back at Fairford,” said manager Gareth Davies. “He was a promising young player when he started out here and it’s great he has returned for the final nine games of the season to help us out.”
Davies added: “Having spoken with him, he didn’t want to do the travelling in the Southern League at the minute and he just wants to get back to enjoying his football. We are delighted to be able to give him that platform as we want to try and finish as high as we possibly can.”
