FC Halifax Town captain Nathan Clarke is set to miss the next month of the season with an eye injury, report the Halifax Courier.

Clarke picked up a scratch to his eye during the first-half of Town’s 1-0 defeat at Sutton on Saturday, and was forced off in the second-half due to blurred vision.

The former Huddersfield Town defender was named captain of Pete Wild’s side ahead of this season.

Clarke was in caretaker charge of Halifax last year alongside Steve Nichol, following Jamie Fullarton’s departure.
