FC United have brought left-back Caleb Richards to the club on loan from Norwich City until 6th January 2019.

The Salford-born defender joined Norwich from Blackpool this summer and has started 10 matches for Norwich’s under-23 squad so far this season.

Richards, who turned 20 on 8th September, got a brief taste of first-team football last season when he came on as a late substitute for Blackpool during a 2-1 loss at Wigan in the League Cup first round. He also started a 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy group stages and won the Player of the Round award for his performance at right-back.

Manager Neil Reynolds said: “I am delighted to acquire the services of Caleb Richards. He will be a fantastic addition to the squad.

“I would like to thank Norwich for their support and professionalism for allowing FC United to provide Caleb this opportunity to help his career progress.”
