Droylsden have announced the signing of FC United of Manchester’s experienced frontman Liam Dickinson.
The 33-year-old first made his name in the EFL with Stockport County. Joining County from Woodley Sports in 2005, he went on to score 21 goals in County’s 2007/08 campaign, which ended in promotion to League One and Dickinson scoring the winner against Rochdale in the play-off final at Wembley.
He went on to sign for Derby County following their relegation from the Premier League but his game time would have to come at Huddersfield Town, Blackpool and Leeds United. Dickinson last scored goals in the EFL for Southend United in 2011/12 before moving into non-league.
He started for Droylsden in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Tadcaster Albion.
