Shamir Fenelon has become the twelfth member of Gary Waddock’s Aldershot Town squad to sign a new contract for the 2017/18 season.

The 22-year-old attacker joined The Shots from Crawley Town in July 2016 and has made forty appearances this season, scoring 7 goals.

Fenelon began his career with Brighton & Hove Albion and signed his first professional contract aged 17, in May 2012.

In addition to three first-team appearances for The Seagulls, he enjoyed loan spells with Tonbridge Angels, Torquay United, Rochdale, Tranmere Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Released by Brighton in the summer of 2015, the Republic of Ireland under-21 international joined his home-town club and made thirty-two appearances for the Red Devils in 2015/16.

Fenelon joins Cheye Alexander, Nick Arnold, Jake Cole, Will Evans, Jake Gallagher, Idris Kanu, Jim Kellermann, Matt McClure, Bernard Mensah, Scott Rendell and Callum Reynolds in remaining with the club for 2017/18.
