A Kaine Felix strike guaranteed Guiseley’s survival in Vanarama National League North as they grabbed a 1-0 home win over Darlington, the Telegraph & Argus report.

The Lions grabbed a crucial three points thanks to the striker’s 16th-minute effort when he slotted over Darlington goalkeeper Jake Turner.

Guiseley put a 2-0 defeat at Blyth Spartans on Good Friday as they ended Easter with a winning feeling at a sunny Nethermoor.

Felix also had a chance for his second 10 minutes after scoring but his effort was thwarted.

Guiseley took the points following a good attacking display

There was a lengthy stoppage in play as Lions frontman Kayode Odejayi went down with what looks like an injured knee. But he managed to return to the field.

Both sides had chance during the second period but Guiseley hung on for the vital victory.

Guiseley ensured their safety ahead of their last game of the season at Kidderminster Harriers this Saturday.
