Ebbsfleet United defender Sam Magri could be in line to face England and Scotland in September after he was was named in the Malta squad.
Magri actually represented England at Under 16, 17, 18 and 19 level before switching his alligience to Malta, making his Under 21s debut against Belgium in October 2015.
The former Portsmouth player made his senior debut against Slovenia in a World Cup qualifier in November 2016 and has five caps to his name.
Malta face England at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium on Friday 1st September before travelling to face Scotland at Hampen Park three days later.
Magri’s call-up means he will miss Ebbsfleet United’s National League fixtures against former club Dover Athletic and Eastleigh.
Malta currently sit bottom of Group F after losing all six of their matches so far.
Malta have already faced the two Home Nations in the current World Cup 2018 Qualifying campaign.
In September 2016 they were beaten at home by Scotland as a Robert Snodgrass hat-trick led the Tartan Army to a 5-1 victory.
And a month later goals from Daniel Sturridge and Dele Alli meant England inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Pietro Ghedin’s side.
