Fleetwood Town manager Simon Grayson has confirmed an approach from Stockport County for striker Paddy Madden.

Speaking following the weekend’s goalless draw with Blackpool, Grayson said to the club’s website when asked about County’s interest in the former Yeovil Town and Scunthorpe United star:

“They’ve asked the question about it, and it wouldn’t be just a loan deal, it would probably be a loan to a permanent.

“They’ve asked the question as a football club and we’ll speak to Paddy about what he wants to do, and we’ll see where we go after the weekend.

“But as it stands, he’s been out there today, he’s our player. Could that change?

“Possibly. Could we keep him?

“Course we could, he’s our player for another 15 months or whatever.”
