Forest Green Rovers have continued squad preparations for the new season with the addition of midfield duo Drissa Traore and Mohamed Chemlal.
Twenty-four-year-old Traore signs a two-year deal, subject to a medical, after being released by Sky Bet League One side Swindon Town, having made twenty-four appearances last season.
His arrival at Forest Green sees Traore rekindle his working relationship with manager Mark Cooper, having played under the new Rovers boss at the County Ground last season.
Born in the Ivory Coast, Traore grew up in France, and began his senior career as a regular in Le Havre’s B team.
He progressed into the Normandy club’s first-team, in the second tier of French football, and then moved to England to join Notts County for the 2014/15 season.
As well as representing France at junior level, Traore has also turned out for Ivory Coast in their under-21 squad.
The other man penning a deal with Forest Green, attacking midfielder Mohamed Chemlal, also has links with Le Havre having spent last season in in their ‘B’ team.
Capable of playing across the midfield, the 21-year-old has signed a one-year deal at The New Lawn – subject to a medical and international clearance – after turning down interest from a number of French clubs.
Last season Chemlal scored 5 goals and contributed 8 assists during the twenty-six match Championn at de France amateur 2 competition – the fifth tier of French football – as Le Havre B easily achieved promotion.
Chemlal played alongside Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in France junior sides – turning out in the under-16, 17 and 18 national sides.
He began his senior career at SM Caen before moving to Boulogne as an 18-year-old, where he spent two seasons playing in the French third tier.
His first taste of English football came in 2014/15, with a season in Stoke City’s under-21 side, before moving back to France with Le Havre.
