Forest Green Rovers have agreed a deal to sign York City full-back Alex Whittle on a free transfer.
With prolific goalscorer Dayle Grubb having already put pen to paper on a move to The New Lawn from Weston-super-Mare earlier this month, 24-year-old Whittle becomes the club’s second bit of transfer business ahead of the January transfer window. Whittle has agreed to sign until the end of the season, a move which will go through when the window opens on Monday, January 1st.
“I’m buzzing about the move,” he said. “I’ve been waiting to get the chance to play in the Football League so I’m delighted to get my chance.”
